They seem to be in the news at the moment...
I actually do carry a very small one when out shopping because S,M,L,XL can vary so much from make to make.
I always use it discretely, never with a flourish.
Anyone else?
It just seems sensible these days.
d.
I have a 12" ruler under the bed -next to an excercise machine for a certain part of the anatomy- that came packaged discreetly in brown paper.
Does that count.
I fucking love it when the postman turns up with those discreetly wrapped parcels-I do -I fucking love it.
If I ever asked for a tape measure in Tokyo, I'd have a whole gaggle of salespeople tripping over themselves to fetch one. Cultural difference, I suppose.
Still, I think we've all learned from another forumite's recent misadventures. Better to carry your own.
I've got a couple - One is in a key fob, dark brown leather, 1920's, it's tiny.
The other kind I use is the Trad rolled up cloth type. Metal ones are no good as you need something more flexible for the job. IMVHO.
I love the fact that the postman has to bring round Cheeky's parcels - They won't just fit through the letter box then, Chum? How big must they be!
I have a red one with a man dressed in tails and the legend, "Lady's Man."
Never felt the need to bring one along. l just try on the clothes and use my eyes to judge the fit.

I often shop for others so I find it useful - Anybody else do that?
I have a style consultant who advises me on my clothing purchases. Everyone should have one.
My wife has one that's in the shape of a small angel -- the tape spools out her back end. Not the sort of thing one totes about, eh? Mind you, neither is the massive, orange 25' Lufkin ...
I have revisted a , system which I can measure with, my shoe after I take, them off .
