Thankss I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Yes Amerlop, got the jacket pretty cheap so guess I was lucky. :)
Looks great to me sanch, the lapels look fine. Who is the maker?
The quality will be superb. As long as your trousers aren't too tapered and your tie, should you wear one, is of a similar width to that of the lapels you'll be fine. Nice find.
Yeah I don't wear anything less than a 8.5" hem these days, even on my slim lapeled New Nine Nasa-esque suit. The 3 piece with similar lapels to the above is just over 9.5.
I usually wear 7.5" on my trousers. I have to get the jacket and see, he accept returns so if it's WAY too big I just ship it back.
/\ well done Colin, doesn't get any better than that, wear it in good health!
Thanks, Stanshall - I've been looking at it for absolutely ages and felt I could now justify it.
Also, measuring as a 40 XL looks measurements suggest it was made for me!

Definitely pre-62 given the union label.

Jeez, that's beautiful.
Superb. I have one similar that I have been promising to photograph for years. This winter it will happen.
Thanks, both. Was immensely lucky that it fitted and could rescue it.
A cold enough start to the morning in England to warrant digging it out for a photo, Yuca?
Holy cow. That right there is an amazing find, all the more so for being an in-person snag... Beautiful beautiful jacket... Tag have the original price on it?
My dad was living in the Minneapolis area around that time, actually...
