I've always had a soft spot for vintage militaria, and that's a pretty damn good combo there, Woof. Nice and bloody comfy.

Good sweater woof, I'm currently having a meltdown over the harleys swatch card
You might find better, or bigger pictures of the shades from the source of the yarn:

The Lawrence Odie made for O'Connell's also use the same yarn, but O'Connell's likes to change the names, e.g., Rennie "Turin" is O'Connell's "Autumn"; "Heathland" becomes "Tobacco", and so on.

Yeah, I think we all respond to this when we see it, it's what's going on behind the scenes, whether you arrive at it through an intuitive process or a studied approach it's the end result that counts. It's why I try to argue the subjectivity out of the process because you have objectivity governing this, where the artistry kicks in is creating how the story plays out, what you choose to put together and how they resolve.

Really cool, Other BB... Awesome charts and very interesting thinking behind them... I don't know much about the workings of color but my father has done very deep dives into color as part of his work on (and with) photography. The workings of color wheels and the relationships between different colors seems fascinating, especially when applied to clothing!
That was indeed a great Shetland, woof...
These shots are a good exploration of the relationship between textures. For me, the repp tie at the top would work better with a finer cloth jacket or suit as it seems too shiny against the rough cloth of the winter herringbone. This is just my take of course. The other two ties work perfectly with the tweed however, I particularly like the patterned Brooks tie, a real classic.
I love those matt finish ties that work so well with winter outfits, wool knits, ancient madders, challis ties(?).
I'm a sucker for those ebay sites where they have dozens of old trad ties for sale. I've got far too many already, but I can never stop looking at them, of course when I retire in a few years time and stop going to an office they'll all be largely redundant. Then I'll have to start one of those ebay sites where they have dozens of old trad ties for sale.
You tie a mean knot Berkeley, I've always loved your dimples.
I see your point now that you mention it, Woof. I never actually thought about it before, but now I reckon that the knit tie looks best here. It fits the bill, formality-wise, and I think the contrasting 'rough' textures work out quite nicely. The silk repp tie does look a bit strange here.
I noticed this with my seersucker, as well. I guess this is why the black knit tie is the standard Ivy tie.
Matte silk ties imo are the coolest, Drakes always appear to do really nice ones
Christian Scott is an elusive devil never seen anymore of those jumpers, a few off us had them of ebay.
