Soft tie/shirt contrast vs. strong contrast

Day-glo orange Hermes tie on Navy Bengal or even Candy stripes?
Or
soft red with grey over-pattern Hermes on light blue Bengal or even fine Bengal stripes?

I can't say Day-glo should be worn anywhere other than building sites and football train sessions.

Hard or soft both have their places. I can't be doing with red on blue though. But I'm sure there would be exceptions to that rule.

Tonight I'm wearing a green tie with a pink shirt, FYI.
