I actually read about this style recently in a book called Alabama in Africa. This was something that emerged during colonial rule in many African countries, it's a fascinating topic. If I can hunt down the passage of the book later today I'll post it.

Kind of similar to England's mods. Except that these guys are all Ozwald Boateng fanatics.
I am not sure why some people think nice clothing is only for the wealthy. I had someone tell me they used to dress like me when they were making a lot of money. I didnt realize you had to throw your nice clothing out when that stopped. Might be more of an American disease.
James Laver knew well that clothing is primarily about status. And that status is crucial to human identity.
Not the same as a "30k millionaire" (which I had to look up)
