Yes. does that make me a lesser person?
No, it doesn't.
Lets have it right, there isn't a person on here that isn't buying clothes that they don't need, nor purchased clothes that don't get worn until weeks or months afterwards. Sometimes not even wore at all. We're all weak willed when it comes to clothes. I've been pretty good TBF at keeping my purchases down over the last couple of years after I got rid of a load of stuff I never wear but I've a Fineamore and a Barba never taken out of their boxes in anger in over a year, and a Fineamore Milano I've had for over six months as well.
I've found it does help if you set a rule of trying something on, and not buying it for a week. Gives you time to evalute if you really want it, or more likely really need it.
Nowdays I only shop online, so I can return things.
Still the same collection. I now Semi-retire things I am not sure about. Fumio Sasaki has written a great book, which I have read many times.
"I am getting rid of my possessions" is a guaranteed mood killer at any party. "I am not in Linkedin or Facebook" is almost as bad.

Wonderful
/\ I couldn't say but I do know that if I lived in Japan I would have so many kaiju monster toys it would not be funny ... Rodan in particular, I would concentrate on Rodan ... Ghidorah is cool too ...
Nothing wrong with paring one's wardrobe and things, though, I give things away freely to friends and relatives and charity at propitious moments, lots of people do, but even Zen ascetics can enjoy warm blankets, hot tea, and rice wine.,
but I do have one insane tie from the Andover Shop, pink and silver huge paisley, made in England, must be over 30 years old by now, and another vibrantly colored English repp/regimental from them too, I used to wear them and I hope more suitable occasions arise for them but that might not happen, but the ties were pure rock and they suited me then, it's not their fault that I'm more sedate now, they're still on the rack though, waiting to get a little wild, like the Toledo dagger in the desk drawer in Borges's classic short short story ........
by now I own only 20 ties
20 ties? I have closer to two thousand, the vast majority of which ive never worn.
994 is best
I would like to get it down to like 50 ties.
So? Maybe you should remember that there are people in Africa who don't own any ties AT ALL!
i think at a push I could get down to just one blue and one burgundy knitted tie. That seems to cover most situations for me these days.
