Actually, I think I'd rather wear a fun stripe tuxedo shirt than a regular one. The idea of wearing a nice, conservative tux and black tie, with those fun stripes secretly hidden away in the sleeves and down the back, is very Ivy... The wing collar is more of a dealbreaker for me than the stripes to be honest...

. . . but more like a 38R (if the measurements are to be believed). Lapels and vent put it in the 70s although I think it would look fine when worn.

I bought a suit with what I thought were super wide lapels, however when I wear it it looks fine. I wouldn't go any wider though, and I've just checked it and they're not as wide as those above. Plus the above has super low button placement so I'm going to have to agree - unless you're a hardcore 70s ivy re-enactor (do such people exist?) it would be best avoided.

Seersucker is hard to find with any Ivy details at all, so though it does have wide lapels, I thought I'd pass it along... One never knows...

I have vintage Florsheim beefrolls and although they are wearable they really don't look that great, plus my feet definitely don't like them if I walk for any distance in them. Whereas old school Florsheim longwings and smooths really are the business (as I am sure I have stated innumerable times).
