Didn't Alden get a cease and desist from Gucci? I don't think they make their bit loafers anymore. Mine are Rancourts, woof - I like them a lot. No issues with flimsy soles or shoddy construction, that's for sure!

Stan - the whale tie is actually just a whale tie, but with four different types... Variety is the spice of life smile Thanks for the kind words all, I have some more striped-tie goodness on the way... More yearbook stuff inbound as well...

Re: Ivy league style for today (part 2)

own-vintage navy ls Russell Athletic tee made in USA, vintage Roebuck baggy carpenter jeans with white contrast stitching, love these good old '70s things, sailfish belt in two blues cotton/ribbon/leather with brass C-buckle from Leather Man Ltd., made in Boston Neww Balance in gray suede and mesh, black and green Lakai cotton socks from the surf shop

sports luggage by Adid@s, N!ke, Asics, keeping it very Casual

I did pack a plaid Brooks Brothers Makers madras short-sleeve buttondown and an O'Connell's pima polo shirt in forest green in case I have to look presentable but I plan to be on the beach in Birdwells and the old Hobie shades for the next couple of weeks so I'm mostly toting t-shirts

also packed a couple of pairs of Brooks boxers, Chucks, pair of J. Press navy poplin walk shorts, another old Russell USA t-shirt ... couple more Adid@as shorts and other surf jams

couple of books including a real noir by the great Charles Willeford, and a packet of folded stories and articles I cut out of a tall stack of New Yorkers I had to bid farewell to, and a stash of tangerines, candy, prosciutto, mozzarella, dried mandarin slices, pistachios, dried mango, Mentos ....

dopp kit was custom-ordered from Beckel Canvas Products of Oregon, as the refurbished good old green Gokey's has basically retired from the road and will henceforth be used for storage

travelin' light is the only way to fly

Good stuff all around, you two. The tweed in the last pictures looks fantastic, BB!

Also, the "Big Trad Energy" comment had me spilling my morning coffee.

The grey Brooks suit is pretty good too.
