I suppose this could be vowed as a cold weather patchwork Madras?
It doesn't work for me I'm afraid, there's something unspeakably awful about these sort of garments, so contrived and lacking in good taste. I remember Chens distrastous flirtation with a patchwork tweed cap which was seen once or twice on his pages, but never again. Setting out to be loud and garish is all well and good in the riotous days of summer, but in the grey sojourn of winter clothing should be somber and restrained, with maybe just a Tootal scarf or an Ancient Madder tie to relieve things.

Ah, yes, "distressed"... When you have something that's been thrashed to within an inch of its life, just list it on Etsy as "distressed" for $50! 
I've never understood buying "distressed" stuff tbh, let alone paying more than $5 for it... I have some pretty distressed stuff in my closet, but I've always done it myself, through wear and tear... Wearing Carhartts or some such that have been through someone else's wars seems like cheating to me... And takes half the fun out of it!

It would be worth it to me not to have to rip the sleeves off a shirt myself. I am also willing to pay a premium price for slacks in undesirable sizes.

I'm coming across NOS or VGC "vintage" shirts from the '60-'70s for around the $200-$400 price.
Then you have to figure in postage, customs, etc.
To me those prices are unrealistic. I understand it's an original old garment in new/like new condition - but ultimately it's just a shirt, albeit a really nice one.
