Chums,

my usual scent or the one I've been wearing during long hours of work (mixed with cig and coffee breaks) is Kiehls but it's out of stock until February at all locations incl. NYC, I'm told.  I was thinking of switching to something somewhat accessible by telephone.  Any suggestions on the least "distinctive" but still decent and masculine scent by Trumpers or Truefitt that I could go with?

I noticed a few of you lads mentioned in previoius posts that you were trying or were going to try the Trumpers or the Truefitt, and I might as well follow suit, though perhaps I should go the sample route rather than drop US$75 on a bottle if it doesn't work for me.  I wonder if these outfits sell mini-bottles?  I don't want bother to badger to cadge samples, but maybe it'd be worth it.

I also notice Will mentioned Acqua di Parma on his site as did several of you above....

Maybe uninspired, but I've worn Eau Sauvage every day for years. It just hits a chord and even cheers me up on dark days.

Curzon & Astor are lighter than say Wellington which is very heavy and MANLY - Maybe too much so. It can smell a little overpowering sometimes. I like C.& A. because they retain the manly scent but present it in a lighter way.

Trumper's Lime is very good - Very fresh. I rate it the best Lime out there. Their ordinary Eau de Cologne is good too.
Their Green Fern is OK - Penhaligon's English Fern is better - The only thing by Pen. that I personally like.

The above is only IMHO & what suits me of course.

I think to many foreigners, the American habit of taking daily showers is odd. For one, the Japanese find morning showers eccentric as they usually take evening showers.

Certainly, Americans may be the most ill-dressed, but they're probably the cleanest. Cleanliness is next to Godliness as that old adage goes.
