Lifted from 'Ivy Style'. Can anyone doubt the truth of this statement? 'Americana', however, is something I now try hard not to do, not having worn even the ubiquitous G9 for about a dozen years, let alone Filson. Does a navy Pendleton cardigan with welted pockets count? I never did like Redwings. Anyway, in England - in the UK even - can Ivy purity really live? Or must it co-exist? I think the 'Ivy Style' people are onto something here and next week I will be visiting a shop that has been selling out and out 'Americana' for at least the past twenty five years and where I was once asked exactly what I meant by a button-down shirt - did I mean a shirt with buttons? My guess is that even the owners had never heard of 'Ivy League'.
Some nice comments about John and Paul Simons. A nice site with a friendly feeling. I hope they won't mind my stealing from them.
