I used to like them; now I don't.  I started with Timberland, moved on to Sebago.

Moc yes, boat shoe no for me. I'm okay with the form but don't need that lacing threaded through.

I really like boat shoes. Sperry Gold Cup or Rancourt.

Ah, if I were beside a harbour with a pretty girl, in New England, France, Italy...  instead of a land-locked former textile town in overcast England...  I did so enjoy looking at that old Sebago catalogue...

I'm a late convert to boat shoes after finding a decently priced pair of Rancourts quite recently. They have that smart/casual hybrid that typifies so much ivy clothing. In this case more casual than smart, nonetheless by 21st century standards they are quite elegant too.
