Re: London Ivy - differences within the capital

Read some of the old posts from Kingstonian ,very good summary of how things were for young aspiring Ivy kids in the late '60's, he even mentions my football team !

Re: London Ivy - differences within the capital

I know some disapprove of the bumping of old threads, but the 'Golden Age' (as it were) of 'Talk Ivy' I think is often worth revisiting.  Kingstonian (who now posts in Another Place) was/is very 'old school' but was very tolerant of my early ramblings.  He can come across as slightly dour but one doesn't mind that.  Spurs, Stax?  I seem to remember dear old Jeff from Russell Street being a QPR supporter.  Myself, well, Cloughie was a boyhood hero, so you can guess the rest.

Brentford FC - this is our new 'golden age' now ! I won't elaborate as this is not a football forum and I'm sure it's boring for non football guys ! cheers,

I used to enjoy reading Kingstonians posts. He was also knowledgeable on beer and pubs in and around London.

Keep bumping the old threads  AFS. Definitely worth revisiting.

Re: London Ivy - differences within the capital

Thanks, Robbie.  I often think so.  I'm constantly discovering or rediscovering little gems, heated discussions, clothing and shoes I shook my head over.
