The forum software is not functioning fully and some members posts show up to everyone else as a blank. But if you click on ‘quote’ in their post you will be able to see what they’ve written.
But strangely the quote function proper doesn’t work.
Nice one, Woof... I've been peeking...
Thanks for the tip Woof, RobbieB - I could read the content of your message
Staxfan, good to know that you can now read my messages. Did you use the quote function suggested by Woof?
RobbieB - Yes I used Woof's suggestion and it worked ! I'll reply to your PM shortly, cheers
Returning to sox (as The Shooman would say), gentlemen, I've rather taken to Anonymous-Ism - to the extent of buying some for my wife (who needs to take good care of her feet), thus making her a Paul Simons shopper by proxy. Spread the good news is what I say. Via the website, yes.
Still stocking up. This time - Turner, a firm apparently local to me but which I'd not heard. £5 a pair or three for £12. Heavily discounted. They feel nice on now, simply encased in a battered Dunlop slipper, but the test is always The Hefty Shoe. If I think for a moment they're going to give my tender diabetic feet gyp, they become for indoor use only.
Another pair of Anonymous-Ism arrived in the van this morning. Slub, intended for my wife again. Kind chap that I'm turning into.
Tabio... I don't believe I've seen anything quite like these... off-white - well, a pinkish sand really - and very, very sheer... I've decided to 'curate' them until late next spring.
I expect most are some kind of blend; are they not? I made the mistake of wearing a pair of my late father's thick hiking socks with Astorflex desert boots and ended up badly cut on the left heel. I'm not sure if they're wool or not. The best for everyday wear are still Burlington, Pantherella etc. although my latest pair of Argyle are from a highly unlikely source.
I hope Shooey will not object to my cribbing his recent posting over on The Wardrobe: Gallo. Expensive but worth the money if one wants to avoid foot torture. My late mother-in-law (not a woman of great taste or imagination) gave me cheap Argyle socks on every birthday. I thanked her of course - but they were unwearable because of the welt pushing down. Even more expensive socks have this problem.
