Frank Wright

Last subject for the week.  Does anyone wear/rate their footwear?  Might some of our older members have had them in the past?

Re: Frank Wright

Picked up a pair just the other day. Think it was Leto (Leffo?, Lego?). Basically their idea/rip off of a Paraboot Michael.
I don’t expect them to be anywhere even approaching the quality of Paraboot. But as I have a wardrobe, loft and half a garage full of shoes, I don’t need to think about them lasting a lifetime.
Really they’re just there to scratch the itch when I feel a bit of French Ivy coming on.
I would rate them as well worth the twenty five odd quid I paid. But do expect to have forgotten about them by next winter.
I also have somewhere some of their leather desert boots which I think I wore a lot for a few years. I got bored of them before they could wear out so they must have been pretty good quality wise.

Re: Frank Wright

Have you taken to Paraboot at all?  I bought a couple of pairs half price in about 2007/8: Michael and black loafers called, I think, Yuma (no, not Yuca).  I didn't care for the tag on one and some A-Level students sitting an exam objected to the squeaking of the other.

Yeah I like the look of them. From what I’ve seen. I think Woof here is a big fan.
Haven’t even seen them in the flesh - but I can imagine the look of despair on my wife’s face if I walked in wearing a pair. Which kind of appeals to me. She’d love me to be Mr Sensible Trainers

Re: Frank Wright

They were great back in 1970. Frank Wright smooths. Oxblood colour, parade ground shine, Blakeys on the heal. They were known as Comos around our way - I'm guessing after Perry Como (maybe). Went well with the tonic trousers and button down Ben.

Re: Frank Wright

Yeah. They did have a reputation. Wasn’t “Oi mate. Watch the Frank Wrights??  a common phrase?
Of course now they might have little to do with the original company, but I have wondered why they don’t do a ‘heritage’ version of that 70’s classic. Seems to work for a lot of other similar names. Farah, Brutus etc.
