Re: YOUR IVY DESIRES FOR 2022

A big boxy heavy ocbd. Growing tired of my Lands' End shirts and would like to try something with a bit more quality. Just once. Kamakuras are to small. And everyone else is to expensive when taxes and fees are included.

Is that a popped collar or are you just happy to see me?

Re: YOUR IVY DESIRES FOR 2022

DBA - I'm assuming your based in mainland Europe, there's a store in Belgium or Holland called Frans Boone, https://www.fransboonestore.com/ , they stock Gitman Vintage , as mentioned before not everyone's choice but I like them as they're (IMO) the most authentic USA made shirts available,(Mercers yes, but too billowy for my frame),  just need to get over the double stitching on the collar, (like BD Baggies), most of the GV shirts on FB's website are made exclusively for FB's, some very nice looking fabrics, GV's are expensive, I only buy when discounted, But my point after these ramblings is that they usually have a couple of shirts on sale, 50% discount, and usually they are XXL's, they're roomy shirts to start with so maybe XXL is ok for you, one on there at the moment 50% off down to around 100 Euros, as an aside I bought a flannel GV from them last year, 50% discounted, VAT deducted at origin, shipping costs not too bad, fully expected, and factored in having to pay the VAT & charges on arrival in the UK but it got through, result & bargain,

Re: YOUR IVY DESIRES FOR 2022

Shoulders too narrow on GV shirts. At least they were a couple of years ago, but I have dropped some weight since then. Can't recall if I bought the XL och XXL. I'm looking at my order history and I see that I've tried both sizes and none of them fit. Two years ago. The Gitman oxford shirt in XXL have shoulder measurment of 22 inches. Jakes shirts that I've been looking at have 19 1/2 in the shoulders in their largest shirt.

What is going on with Brooks Brothers theese days? I looked at the site but found not very much. A lot of stretch shirts and very few must iron madison fit ocbds.

I am not American.

Took some measurements:
Shoulders 50 cm
Chest: 130 cm

Desires for 2022? I glad the thread is entitled Desires rather than needs. Possibly a seersucker suit, but it would have to be in a dark colour like navy blue. I'm not ready for the full on ice cream salesman look.

Re: YOUR IVY DESIRES FOR 2022

Seersucker is a tricky subject in europe, I reckon. In 2011 I bought a pair of blue and white striped BB pants, just to try it out before plungin in and buying a whole suit, But I never felt comfortable in them. They felt... off somehow. Never wore them except when I was at home. Even though seersucker has zero cultural significance in Sweden. But if I'd been in the American south I guess they would've been OK.

I'm with you Duluth, my blue and white seersucker jacket is okay in the summer, but trousers as well could be too much in the UK.
