After this discussion I got out my Schott A2 and decided on giving it an airing today when we headed out for Sunday lunch with friends. i wore the brown jacket with green O’Connell’s cords, a maroon graph check LL Bean flap pocket button down, grey tweed Stetson newsboy and Asics Gel Lyte retro trainers. I did not feel like a superannuated rock and roller or Springsteen wannabe. No one appeared to point or snigger when I entered the pub and I received only favourable comment from our chums. My biggest fan Mrs W delivered unequivocal praise for the outfit, so the leather jacket lives on in my wardrobe..
^ Puts me in mind much more of Stallone's 'Paradise Ally' then eighties Eurovision.
And if it gets the missus exited, any and every other opinion shall be automatically classed as null and void.
I need a missus like Woofs. Mine is my number one critic but I do get the odd compliment. Usually however she looks me up and down and gives a slight shake of the head and suggests a wardrobe change. We both used to run in ASICS Gel Lyte in the 90s so I couldn't get away with wearing the trainer's for a Sunday lunch meet up. Fair play
