I quite enjoy old Richard Press's anecdotes on the J.Press blog and am quite keen to purchase the book of his collected pieces, 'Threading The Needle'. But, my word, what stress, what expense trying to order online. It's not possible to just buy the book as J.Press insist on a minimum order of something stupid like $175, so I chucked in a few pairs of their oxford boxer shorts to meet the allotted price. But then the assholes load on absurd postage and customs charges so the whole thing doubles to something like $350. I only want the bloody book! Has anyone managed to get hold of a copy? I won't be going to the States again for a long time but if a fellow traveller here is off to NYC or New Haven can they get me a copy and I'll paypal them. In fact J.Press in general seem a bit insular and unreachable. Lovely clothes but laughable postage charges to Europe.

Also, US Amazon has a hard copy for sale https://www.amazon.com/Threading-Needle-Memories-Anecdotes-Origins/dp/057879473X/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3AZP15B28OJSH&keywords=richard+press&qid=1652987388&sprefix=richard+press%2Caps%2C667&sr=8-1
Oh, and check out the YouTube clips, in which Press is surely sending himself up.
I have the book. It's OK. It simply replicates the column. Nothing new.
