I have found out that one of the perks of being a moderator on this forum is that you can delete yourself.
So staring at 24 unanswered AFS posts as I am, I think it’s probably the right time. All the best dear chums.
The patient is ailing and probably beyond revival or recovery.
Doubtless, Woof, you have other fish to fry.
Yet you and Yuca and one or two others kept the faith.
Fare thee well.
The end of an era.
No more underpants.
The ole Woof run out of Puff?
Thanks for your hard work, Woof.
Yeah, thanks for the hard work Woofy. Pity things are so quiet.
hey guys....there might be promotion opportunities here.....an opportunity to move up the ladder. You should have a word to the big boss and see what he thinks. You will yield power over a global membership.

And over on DW, to borrow from Bob Roberts, they complain and complain and complain... Then one of our former posters advises his new chums that the 'Ivy Revival' is long over etc. etc. whilst laying one on TRSs old mate. No wonder Woof has grown tired of the game. Next step for us all: bespoke. Set aside those 'rotting tweeds', those moth-eaten old button-down shirts, those sleek loafers and thick soled PTBs...
Time for Sammy Ambrose to drop in and say his piece.
Thanks for your hard work, witty & factual input Woof, you will be sorely missed, all the best,
What pops up time and time again is what a hard thankless job running or moderating a site is.
So thank you Woof.
AFS, i'll let the boys know.
***The poem of woofy woofster (for Ole WOOFY)***
Pity ole Woofy is out of Huff,
And a pity ole Woofy is out of Puff
Looks like he's had enough (enuff)
But he has done all the stuff
Eventhough it's been rough (ruff)
And sometimes he dealt with lots of Guff
Because sometimes it's basically like old Fluff.
And it's just not like the Buff
Sorry to be off the Cuff
But it is just so tough (Tuff)
To keep doing the Stuff
Goodbye ole Woofy,
you will be missed old son.
You are the best,
the best in the west,
and you deserve a rest,
and l don't say that with zest,
now there's no-one to guard the nest,
so who will deal with all the pest,
and who will deal with all the rest,
and who will be put to the test.
Shooey
I thought Shooey's verse was rather sweet - not to mention inventive.
But, I think even by the time I became involved, around 2008 (or was it 2007?) it was beginning to wind down. Jimbo was clearly losing the plot even then.
On the plus side, the 'Search' function has often been highly instructive, sometimes offering up names that can then be checked out' sometimes even acquired.
Never heard of Dachstein until Shooey mentioned them - now looking to invest before our next winter.
Had some good days at filmnoirbuff.com Lots of gold nuggets to be found from the old days. I joined right at the start, but some of my posts are deleted now. Been doing the forums for over 18 years. I notice Patrick is still around, it's amazing how he keeps popping up, and as addicted to clothes as ever. That scallywag `old horace' still sneaks around too...popping his head up from time to time to see what's going on. All my old mates are gone though...vanished in the wind like a bit of dust, dunno where they are anymore. One thing l do know, we are all getting much older. Kids have become big adults and big daddies have become grampas, some have even left us.
I understand FNB has still got about 18 years left on this site. He paid in advance years ago.
Don't feel scared to pop in and say G'day Woofy. Update us all on how your gunboats are going and all that stuff.
Shooey
Thanks Woof. All your work and posts much appreciated.
Happy trails woof, I'm glad to have known you
‘Thanks Woof. All your work and posts much appreciated.’

Agreed.
I check in regularly and if I have something to say I say it.
But after close to two decades on various forums I have pretty much run out of deep thoughts on buttondown collars.
Cheerio, Woof!
As AFS intimates above Woof's departure is an indication that this site may well now be a patient who cannot be cured.
It has just come to my attention that DW has a dedicated thread for Ivy/Trad discussions, so posters and lurkers on here might like to pay a visit.
Your rich experience will be likely to breathe new life into thread and the DW forum software allows pics galore.
Here is the link.

Brass neck and definitely 'too soon' if TI is indeed dead.
I don't know why posters don't just take a 'sabbatical' from time to time, if they feel the need. That's what I do. Just dip in and out. For Woof I suppose being an administrator makes it more difficult to do that. The other admin. people just disappeared. Or did they say cheerio as well?.
Poor young Liam, still named, died around a dozen or so years ago.
I skipped off for a long while, having become impatient with the never-ending sniping at the Americans, especially Christian Chensvold.
