Smart looking John Simon’s customer on Permanent Style

He is in good shape and his kit is well-fitted, details are all present and correct. His suits are either bespoke or sourced from good outlets. Off centre vent features in one. I would wear the blazer at the golf club. Reminds me of Gladstone’s in Willesden Green old school family run Jewish business. One of the assistants wore a similar jacket. Cost was a major consideration for me at the time, so I was after similar but cheaper.
He could almost be an old school 1960s geezer at the Top Rank ballroom Watford on a Saturday night.
Obviously he is on decent wedge. He is a bit too arty-farty for the Top Rank and the name ‘Cedric’ would not go down well either.
Still, he is a good advert for John Simon’s and an alternative smarter look to the chore coat.

I have a similar colour Liberty print tie. You don’t have to stick to schoolboy stripes, there are alternatives.

Fair comment. He probably drinks something fashionable like a negroni. Maybe he is a wine bar type if he worked in The City ?
Not a medium dry sherry though, or even the good stuff - almacenista Lustau offerings.

Impeccable posh boy style. It all fits perfectly and he has nice hair and teeth. He did not go to a comp. In my job I occasionally brush natural shoulders with art world chaps like Cedric. They have charming manners cultivated to disarm. They work in a world where flattery is a lingua franca. He is untouched by popular culture which I like and he would rather be seen dead than walk into a branch of Wetherspoons, which I also like. Only gripes - are his strides an inch too long? And that's a naff casual outfit he's sporting. Stick to the ties Ceds.

If Cedric did turn up in Spoons he would get the mickey taken for describing himself as a ‘gallerist’.
That’s a new one. If he was a lunetier with an atelier in The West End we would not give it a second thought now.

I agree that that the casual outfits are naff. There is no break on the trousers so they are OK, maybe they could be narrower.

What a load of bitter, depressing shit this forum can so often be. Anything that's not ivy by numbers and/or by a 1980s JS customer is a threat.
I have had contact with Cedric and as well as dressing well he's good to converse with. I've also been to Wetherspoons on a number of occasions and I didn't notice anyone taking any interest in anyone's career, let alone taking the piss out of anyone for having a career that didn't exist 30 years ago.
Incidentally when I was in 'Spoons I usually drank a San Pellegrino. If that makes me posh that would be amusing as I've lived in rougher areas than any of you. As a child and an adult.

I've just drunk San Pellegrino - with lime juice. That definitely makes me 'a cut above' (as my late mother-in-law might have termed it).
In fact, I decided to take Yuca's (excellent) advice last year and begin dieting. It's working.

I usually have cans of Pellegrino lemon sparkling drink in the fridge. I sometimes use it as a mixer for London gin or Italian spirits (Campari). I don't think of it as posh. Just a nice taste.

Cash and regular access to good shops adds up to choice. That must be one of the advantages of living in a capital city. I get along, up here, in my bleak northern outpost. But I miss those regular trips I used to make to Russell Street. Early train, chit-chat with the boys, Jeff packing the bags for me, back on the train shortly after lunch.

KingstonIan's comment about chore gear is noted. A rather nice-looking Vetra cropped up on Ebay last week but, at around the £60 mark, didn't hang around too long. From what I made of the photographs, it looked more like the old Keydge perhaps than something a shambling BBC TV presenter might allow his golden retriever to kip on.
The shop Kingers refers to sounds interesting. Such places are still encountered up here, often in Towns-That-Time-Forgot, but most often offering Barbour, Farah and maybe the odd tattersall shirt and tweed jacket than anything to make the mouth water. Gurteen and Brooke Taverner will often feature. Failsworth caps. I tend to look but not buy.

Cash is king. Those jeans cost £259. Even the plimsolls at the end are £170. Drakes and other retailers mentioned are not cheap. Cedric is not looking on eBay or in charity shops. He is the sort of big spending customer that Permanent Style seek out.
He could post on here but he may prefer the opinions of others who shop in the same places. Taking the mickey does not mean animosity. Anyone can be a target.
