I've just picked up on a brief thread discussing New Orleans 'Trad' stores around the time of the Kennedy Presidency.  The poster confirms KingstonIan's assertion that lambswool sweaters were more costly than Shetland and provides an interesting list of names of stores and their stock.  He was an employee.
