The last pic really is fantastic. The first two don't do much because I've never liked plaid shirts with ties. Horses for courses. It's all so so subjective. Such an individual thing. And JJ is certainly an individual.

I have to agree; never more than one patterned item, that repp tie just looks awful with the plaid shirt. Just far too much going on there

I like his shirt in the last pic but baseball caps are never stylish, particularlry on middle aged men.

Love his looks. Not always, but very often. Inspiring. Sometimes a bit too "workwear", but always very tasteful...

The mans got style; its just not ivy style! Tries far too hard for me personally, but at least he's trying to push the boundary! Can't be doing with the sneakers, jacket, shirt, tie, baseball cap combo! More fashion than style IMO. And it takes some bollocks to be his age and dress like a young hipster, ala, McLairy! But full credit to the man.

It's been my great pleasure to have spent this afternoon working for Jason for the third time now.

I'm back on Garmsville next week.

I turn down far more blogs than I accept and JJ is always a pleasure to share ideas with.

To know him is a Mitzvah,

I really like his style, it's completely his own if that makes sense. Ivy with a twist.

Seconded. I love like he drives that thin line between Ivy and fashion. He does that extremely well.

Sammy puts in the claim that Jason Jules was oversold by Frosty.  I can't help but agreeing with him - although I'd say Jason Jules is more than capable of overselling himself given half a chance.
If there were many comments on his book, they've slipped my memory.

P.S. Sammy dislikes the unbuttoned button-down.  Again, in this instance, I'm in agreement.

Of course Frosty would have found Jason achingly 'hip' because Jason happens to be black.  Had Jason been black and a one-legged sodomite who'd been at Cambridge with Guy Burgess, Frosty would have had multiple orgasms.

Jimmy used to get a stiffy just thinking about sitting at a table with JJ and KR in some trendy hole in Bethnal Green. He felt he'd arrived, and found his people and was  finally valued. Poor chap.

Funny folk, the middle middle class (not the snots who have an intercom at the front gate, a second home in Thailand and a Polish builder on call), especially when they've 'slipped' in status.  They can take great comfort in mixing with the lower orders, quaffing foaming pints of ale and swapping tips for the Grand National.  Chap I used to work for was exactly like this, spending weekends in draughty houses with some smelly retriever to hand, eating cottage pie and custard.  An odd combination of arrogance and affability was at work there.  'Charm the birds off the trees'.  And he wore secondhand suits from Saville Row.
