The Ivy Suit
Although an infrequent poster, I am a regular lurker here and have learned multitudes over the years.
I think I am on the younger side among the community, although by no means young (just turned 48), and it seems most posters are leaning heavily into the casual end of the spectrum most of the time.
I, however, have a need for 'business' dress on a daily basis, despite the fact I am not in business but education. Which is a long introduction to my point/ question.
I have loads of sports coats and chinos/ trousers, and have no trouble updating/ replacing these via ebay/ JS. However I also love a suit, and my vintage suits are wearing out.
It is getting harder and harder to find decent vintage suits on ebay/ etsy, so where can I buy a new suit with natural shoulders, preferably 3-roll-2 buttons, flat front tapered trousers?
I want plain, everyday grey/ charcoal/ navy; perhaps with pin or chalk stripes. JS does nice suits each season but they seem to be more eye-catching and less sober everyday wear.
I am at a loss - any suggestions?

Good luck.
I don’t think you will find new RTW with those specifications in the U.K.
An overseas trip would give a lot more options. Or take a risk and import a new suit - perhaps when there is a sale.

As King says, you need to import from the US. New or vintage. O'Connell's or Press are probably your best bet for the former. Or maybe if you contact/visit JS you will come up trumps.
An ivy suit is a thing of beauty, so I hope you get sorted.
Incidentally, if you or anyone else is a 38R or 39R let me know. I have some ivy suits I need to get rid of.

Thanks both. You are both right. I was wondering if anyone knew of anything that approximated The Look without being perfection - I could live with darts, maybe 2 button etc.
Am aware of OConnells etc but buying something at their prices plus shipping, duty over the internet is quite a punt to take.
As it happens Yuca I am a 39R if you have anything to shift!

To add to my earlier post: another option is to find a tailor. But it can take a long time, it's expensive and there is an element of risk. I have seen it done though - a while ago a guy in Hull posted a blazer on social media, he'd had it made for him and it looked text book ivy.

I'm also in the market for a summer suit. As far as I can tell JS seems the only solution if I want to try on the suit before buying.
Let us know how you get on Dean. Maybe Yuca has the solution to your problem.
I wouldn't compromise on the details if I'm forking out a lot of dough. I know a tailor locally to my UK flat but he is so headstrong and sure of his own design abilities that he wouldn't produce the exact details I would want.
