The Old Rayon Scarf

I am rediscovering these now that summer is gradually fading and before switching during the colder days to Brooks cashmere and Press lambswool.  I used to have quite a collection of - mostly - Tootal with some Duggie and Sammy.  They seem to be getting slightly more difficult to track down in shops, though.  I was offered a 1940s rayon example back in June.  Some are double-sided.  I think they add a slightly jaunty touch.  Fading yellow looks nice with grey London Fog, dark green with brown Burberrys'.  I think The Beatnik is a fan.  Paisley and polka dots are both nice and remind me of Clothesville.

Always up for a poncy scarf, me.

Rayon is an odd material for a scarf, as it wears cool. Lovely 'slidiness' and drape on the heavier ones though.

Old acetate and of course silk scarves are always worth lookin out for.

Yep, I'm a scarf addict. Usually lucky charity shop finds.

Bit of a bump for this old thread, that saw scant interest at the time.
Still doesn't really answer Robbie's question, though.
Staceyboy once gave me a very nice old Alan Paine scarf which I still wear on autumn days.

Oh, and silk was mentioned by Moose.  Not sure I've ever owned a pure silk scarf.
