The Summer Style Of John Simons

We met for a chat this week. Always stimulating to be in his company. His outfit was bebop boho jazz hipster Ivy, his specialist subgenre of the form, consisting of grey marl T-shirt, khaki shorts, wallabee shoes, Keydge seersucker jacket, linen cap and round tortoiseshell glasses. He won the Ivy Face Off as I was drab in linen and loafers. The heat saps my energy to dress  up.

I suppose this is the mark of The Man. The charisma? There’s probably a perfect Jewish term that I don’t know? He’s forgotten more than I’ll ever know and doesn’t have to try. So he’s going to come top in any ivy face off. Quite right too.
Like you 2RS, the heat we had recently sapped my resolve. I couldn’t do the jacket with shorts look without looking like a Bermudan business bod. And without the jacket I’d just be another guy in shorts and T.

Re: The Summer Style Of John Simons

Yesterday in London I had a work event, no bag but needed pockets - so a Gant lightweight unlined sport jacket in plain mid blue did the job over a candy stripe BD shirt.. I didn't need a jacket really, just the pockets.

It's Chutzpah.
Funny he can carry off things that I just wouldn't even consider putting together.
He reminds me of Ralph Lauren. He transcends the clothes he sells and creates something much more interesting
