You know, those places where every response was 'lovely jubbly' no matter what people might be wearing, just noticed they finally seem to have dropped off the edge of the internet.
Examples? Not sure I know what places you are talking about.
Modculture and Modgeneration, I think there was some infusion here in the past. Hideous modsuits, Weller haircuts, some interesting characters, a little like here in a way.
Dave who runs MC and Wowhaus etc is still going so assumed the forum was too, but maybe not?
Guilty of a bit of a feather cut pre my 40s, when I cut it all off to go short and neat, was always more into the ivy aspect of the style, never had covered button suits, cord shoes etc.
Dave's sites as you say were more varied than just Mod - his stuff on design and art was really good.
I briefly joined Mod Generation and ended up leaving within weeks over a decade ago.
Here is about the only place I find at the right level that you can dip in and out of over a prolonged period.
I often checked into the …culture and …generation forums without ever joining. Just as some kind of need to keep in touch as much as anything.
I’ll always believe that ‘mod’ in all guises has much to offer and inspire, but an awful lot of it I was never into or have outgrown.
I do think Talk Ivy has suffered recently from the scatter bomb anti mod posts. It’s a better place when it’s talking ivy instead of bashing everything else.
When it gets too negative, I dip out fir a bit. We all just have enough to deal with. It cannot all be sweetness, but clothes is the fun stuff.
