RIP Kenny Lovegrove

Just heard the sad news that Kenny Lovegrove has died. Like quite a few others he was an Ivy Shop Richmond customer, from the mid-60s onwards, who ended up working in a number of John Simons' shops, in particular at J.Simons Russell Street from 1981 until the shop's closure. He was a lovely chap with a great dry sense of humour. Hated work, lived for his holidays, the perfect Ivy wardrobe, Elvis Presley, Clarks desert boots and Brentford FC. I worked with him in the shop for a while in the 80s and he was lovely company.

Indeed sad news to those who had the pleasure to meet him. A stalwart of Russell St and a lovely bloke along with JS & JG.

Always popping up from the basement whenever I'd drop in.

Re: RIP Kenny Lovegrove

Very sorry to hear this, he and Jeff made my working lunchtimes an absolute education and pleasure for 18 months in the mid 2000’s, a great loss.

What a loss indeed. My condolences to his friends and family.
