FlatSixC: Why are people better off on a forum that doesn’t work properly?

The question is easy to answer: they are not. Discussions here on this topic are a complete waste of time.

FlatSixC - indeed, with a few honorable exceptions, the American sensibility is very different. They do take themselves very seriously don't they? Even when talking about a button-down shirt. Old Chenners was the ne plus ultra of uptight, humourless dicks, and dear old Woof tried so very hard, with mixed results, to ingratiate himself with his American cousins.

I think if you read a lot of the war exchanges between poor old Frosty and his acolytes on here ,and Chenners and supporters on Talk Ivy, you will find that Woof was a voice of reason. Being sensible and conciliatory is not akin to being ingratiating.

A big difference is that many DW posters have lost interest into talking about clothes and the name ‘Dressed well’ is now a bit of a misnomer.
