Anyone any experience of their footwear? Made in Spain, Goodyear welted, Dainite soles (which I like). Are they too cheap to be taken seriously - £165 for plain derbys? Look good in pics online, but there is nothing worse than a cheap shoe on your feet.
No they are top notch.
I have a pair of their loafers - more Euro than Ivy and also a pair of their chocolate suede chukka boots with a Dainite sole.
Both purchase from the excellent Discount Shoes in Strutton Ground, Victoria.
I got a pair of Royals there, but I find the leather on Royals rather stiff. I looked at Berwick plain caps and was impressed but I already have Trickers plain caps in cordovan leather.
The French company Bexley also used to have calf leather Goodyear welted shoes that seemed to be too good to be true. I have an excellent wholecut and a monk strap from them - both black. They only offered one shade of brown and the leather soles wear through quickly. They advise in their shops to put a Topy on. Bexley are not what they were now.

YouTube link above gives closer look.
£145 if they have your size.
There are on the temple road a few shops with some us/brit/French things.
Barbour Filson and etc. And some interesting French interpretations. Between St. Paul and the Sienne.
A dozen vintage shops.
The hipster store now a few years old is Merci. It’s a copy of French copying the Americans copying the French.
Some good French labels. High quality. Small makers. Sweaters and what not. Somewhat Expensive. Made on old French machines.
Restaurant: so many. le Petit Dakar is interesting. Reasonable price. Always a table. Cameroonian beer. Senegalese food right in Marais.
If others come to me I’ll post here or send pm.
In the 1st but i always like Galignani. . Fantastic bookstore.
And near by the floor mosaic for Sulka which was the shop for Americans at beginning and through mid 20th century.
Paris is the one city i never regret spending money.
Sorry this was meant for old Alveys thread on Paris. Just realized posted to wrong one

Like 2RS and Kingy I'm a fan of the Dainite sole. I have a pair of Alfred Sargent pebblegrain longwings with a Dainite sole and have worn them often recently. I have some Bass Weejun boots with a leather sole that I want to add a Dainite sole. Price for that could be £70 minimum. Not sure if it's worth it and the boots remain hidden away, unworn.
