More elegant than the old Florshiem. Are they still considered Ivy?

No storm welt on those longwings. They look very different without one.
I see dressedwell is still going. Is it still mostly politics rather than clothes?
'Not like the clunky big brutes from Florsheim, but the more refined copy made for tailored clothing.'
Enjoy! Personally clunky big brutes from Florsheim (back in the day not the present travesty) are longwing perfection, either dressed down with chinos or dressed up with a suit. I don't wear them with jeans though, although plenty of people do.

I say:
I am not sure, but l don't notice any politics threads coming up thank goodness. It seems to be mainly about clothes of late.

It is a very American thing. As much as l like big fat brutes, l am more into the refined shoes now. I think the new longwing l bought will go really well with my new tastes.
Did you see the NOS Florsheim Imperial shell longwing on ebay lately selling for $$$$?
-----------------
Here are some big clunkers I have been tempted to buy too. You guys will probably hate them, but l don't mind them. Big FAT bast**ds. They'd probably fit me too...the measurements all work out.
With exchange rate they'll be over $1,000, but l am going to wait for a while and try and bargain him down a bit. Some of the nicer Bettanin & Venturi shoos, but not in the league of my usual Lattanzi shoos, hence me not wanting to pay too much.

I like the 1st pair. Not exactly what I'd wear but I'd definitely be happy to see someone else in them. That particular pair have quite a lot of wear though. The 2nd pair is identical but in blue I think. The colour just doesn't work for me. The last pair are a bit like desert boots in leather. I think I like them. They've also seen a lot of wear though. I prefer my used shoes to be nearly new, however I've seen plenty of people online who have done amazing restorations of used shoes.
Blue shoos work best with white or cream trousers.
Yuca,
are you sure you won't change your mind about these v's the chunky longwings? Got `em today, and l think they are nice.

From that angle they look superb and not dissimilar to old school US longwings. I would be interested to see further shots. I hope you wear them to death (obviously never 2 days consecutively) and get lots of pleasure from them. I'm sure they will look the business with many of your favourite clothes.

some photos of them on the feet
