No Direction Home

I went to see the Bob Dylan biopic yesterday, I'm not a big Dylan fan but I appreciate his genius as a songwriter,
Without giving anything away it covers the period 1961 - 1965, so there's a lot of good Ivy action going on, the guy playing Pete Seger wears a great range of Ivy shirts and in one clip even a shetland saddle shoulder crew, TBH in any photos or film clips I've seen of Seger he never looked that well dressed or had as much hair or looked that healthy ! The guy playing Dylan's manager had a good range of shirt/tie combos as well, Joan Baez never looked as good as the young woman who plays her in the film,
I think the film does a good job of covering the NY folk scene in that period, worth a watch IMO,

I might have to check that out. As it happens I've been listening to early 60s music on Spotify this morning. Mainly early beach boys stuff. I may have to go out later, wearing my Pendleton board shirt that I bought off you Stax HaHa

Re: No Direction Home

I can't even stand up on a paddle board these days, let alone a surfboard. The rowing club gang reckon they are going out tomorrow, in between storms. I won't be joining them

Heading to see it today, so will be keeping a keen eye on the style. We watched The Brutalist last weekend at The Barbican and there was a light sprinkling of mid century / ivy style creeping through including Pendleton shirts and loop collars. Adrian Brody wear a magnificent grey sweater in the latter part of the

Re: No Direction Home

I’m hoping to see the Brutalist next week when it gets out to the provinces, I’ll look out for that grey sweater!

Re: No Direction Home

Only going to see it to verify if they got Bloomfields clothing and mannerisms right.

Re: No Direction Home

I saw the film last week and thought they got the clothing, cars etc  pretty good. I did however think it was a sanitised version of Dylan. Where was the heavy drug taking that went on during that period for example?
