Probably declining standards on my part, but recently I’m wearing them more often.
Lately I’ve taken a lot of inspiration from Dick Carrol’s Style and Fashion cartoons, which you can find on the PutThisOn website. Injecting trainers into an outfit seems to make it easier, for example, to wear a pair of smart tailored trousers and a long overcoat when you’re just going out to the shops etc. Add a pair of smart leather lace up shoes and the whole outfit takes on a totally different vibe.
But only 70/80s trainer classics for me, New Balance 574, Reebok Club Classics. Preferably stuff with sandwich soles, although the other day I acquired a pair of Nyk Heir Max 1 1987 reissues, which have actually attracted favourable remarks from under the 25s.
Do you wear trainers?
If so, which ones?
How do you wear them?

I've got one pair of New Balance trainers that TBH I only wear to the gym & dog walking, just checked them and they are 574's so I guess they're Ok , I'd be happy to wear them with shorts in the summer for (say) strolls to the local, but on the whole I'm old school and it's deck shoes/dessies for the warmer weather,
FSC - I see your photo on ILG FB page with the polo coat and trainers, as with the beret action you can definately pull off the look, for me I'd be getting sideways looks from Her Indoors !
Thanks Stax! These Made in UK 576s are half price and they seem to have good stock in most sizes/colours.
The Made in UK or US New Balance are a step up in quality. Drakes charge £190 for them!

No Nikes, NB or Boks, only Spring Court, Parcells and CT 70's worn with denim or tailored shorts.
I do own 10 pairs of running shoes/trainers though, 4 pairs are for off road the rest for road running, and when they're not fit for purpose, they're used for gardening.

I wear NB made in USA/UK trainers for walking along the Thames Estuary and I have a couple of Jack Purcell trainers that I hardly wear. I've also got a pair of Incontinence pants trainers in Claret and Blue that I wear on my increasingly rare visits to the London Stadium. I have loads of NB and other Brands running shoes from my running days . I haven't run properly for a couple of years so they don't get worn.
incontinence pads=Incontinence pants
I'll try again incontinence pants=A well known brand of trainers begining with A
I wonder if this site will ever be sorted out?
I had the same trouble trying to write Surgical appliance sexy Rhinestone negligee
Robbie - 'I've also got a pair of Incontinence pants trainers in Claret and Blue that I wear on my increasingly rare visits to the London Stadium' - Did you pop along last Saturday - just saying ( smiley face ) ......
Stax-I didn't go but I talked to a few people that were at that game and they said West Ham were rubbish and were lucky not to lose by more (sad face)
This thread got weird very quickly!
You can’t post photos but certain spamable brand names are still getting picked up hahaha.
For lovers of late 70s early 80s kicks, I think IYSO (Korean label) do a cool looking shoe and one super sale discount at The Great Divide, I also rate Bolton made Walsh which I have a pair of.

I like the Bolton made Walsh trainers. Community Clothing offer a selection in leary colours. IYSO are similar, I think.
incontinence pants
The blue and the white IYSO are ok, yellow closer to the Onitsuka Tiger - Bruce Lee and a bold colour for some.
Walsh usually have end of line stock and I love that they use fabric ends to not waste but you do get some interesting combos hahaha

I was there. Getting there was not too bad in daylight. Getting back was another story. A featureless tramp to the station, interrupted by teams holding 'STOP' signs. I had plans to kill time provided by mates from East London. However, too late I realised that access to Stratford Westfield was now via the station itself. Once inside I decide to check the Jubilee Line and wedged myself inside one that had just arrived. It was a better option than walking around in the light rain seeking out other places.
Yes West Ham were poor. The stadium itself was a terrible place for watching a game.
I don't wear trainers. I also hate those shoes with thick white rubber soles that are a sort of halfway house.
The match day experience at the London Stadium is indeed terrible. It must be the worst place to watch football in the Premier league. I only enjoy going when I have a chance to meet up with old friends or relatives. Some of my mates only go to the away games
