A few years ago Sid Mashburn was promoting some home dyed Levi 501's.
They appeared similar to a pair of LVC khaki coloured jeans I had - but at half the price.
I ordered a pair to coincide with an American holiday.
Upon arrival, they were disgusting. It looked like they had been worn by someone who had had an accident in them and then returned them to the shop.
They went straight back. Although I was offered a replacement pair I was so angry by the whole experience that I chose not to bother.
It was a shame as the idea of having a beige denim to wear as an alternative to chinos appealed to me.
It now looks like Levis themselves have a very similar jean on their website called Funky Thangs. They're a lightweight denim so sound perfect for Summer.
Alvey - the Levis thangs look good, no stretch in the material , whenever I've looked at anything on their website (or instore), they're either slim fit or very baggy, these seem like a ' regular ' cut,
On the subject of khaki coloured 5 pockets on my recent visit to 46CS there were 2 pairs of NOS Liberto khaki 5 pockets on the rack, 34 waist,
Stax,
Yes, they're the real deal 501's with a decent rise. My advice is to get your local tailor to add a taper to these.
Shame the Liberto's aren't a 36".
Back in the day there were loads of great small brands like Liberto. Ball, Replay, Henry Cottons, Williwear by Will Smith.

Liberto jeans were great, perfect 5 pocket cut and a high rise. But they sized up small so those size 34s would actually be a 32 waist or thereabouts.
