I'm sure a woman would be able to find something sufficiently trendy at a Wal-Mart, but God forbid someone buy men's clothes there!
I've heard their button-down dress shirts aren't bad and good value. I know I am very partial to Costco's. I assume Wal-Mart would be okay for underwear, "work clothes" and such. My sartorial slumming almost entirely takes place at Costco and Target, although I find Costco much less of a good hunting ground than I used to.
Great article. Let us know about the jeans. Perhaps this will inspire streetwear denizens at SF.
edit: if they got a high rating for "fit" I'm not sure exactly what that tells us for other qualities. LL Bean's "fit" on a lot of their clothing became more "generous" over the years. I miss the ol' khakis and worsted trousers that Bean used to offer. Great cuts back then, esp. in cords. Reminded me of some of the Andover gear. I wish I still had a catalog from Bean. I have vague memories of Christmas catalogs in the 70's and early 80's and that stuff was so different from the newer stuff. All traditional cuts, natural fibers, a lot more prep and a lot less "sporty" or colorful or
nylon-y, etc.
