Re: Cool Sweats, Pts 1 & 2

Thanks, jesmond, for compiling the useful information.  Just this year, I have come to  appreciate the comfort and utility of the sweatshirt.  My personal favorite is from Carhartt, the quintessentially American brand that is gaining popularity in Asia and Europe.  I found this item about Carhartt Japan opening a store in Paris interesting, if not a bit confounding...

Nice finds Jesmond- I also appreciate the simplicity of a heavy cotton -crew necked sweatshirt- perfect for wearing over a rugby shirt- or has been mentioned recently by Uncle with a roundneck -tshirt.

Ideal weekend -round the house stuff.

You could buy the shirts and the fabric to get shirts made last time I was checking these out for Mrs. David (coupla years back).

"Tana Lawn" aren't they called?

Mrs D. wears these now:

Apart from that sideline from me - GREAT THREAD!

I like the fact that there are a few of us here all now thinking the same way - Scale it down, pare it back, get back to simple strong statements in classic styles using quality fabrics and cuts.

Classic, stylish dressing using timeless forms without any retro agendas or geopolitical statements going on.

No frippery, no Feminine fussiness, no getting "All Dressed Up". Just getting dressed.

Just cool clothes.

It really can (& should) be that simple.
