I'm curious, if there's anybode else, who has experience with this maker. www.maftei.at
Those resemble the Vass banana last do they not?
In the Austrian-Hungarian tradition it is sort of duty to have the banana last in the programme.
But they do all kind of styles. In my opinion they are a link between Vass and e.g. G&G
Alexandru Maftei worked several years for Rudolf Scheer. www.scheer.at
Watch the shoes from wien:

I received a report from a friend, who is picking up his shoes at their workshop in Vienna:
The story:
After having about a three hour conversation and in depth explanation and disection of bespoke shoes with Alexandru Maftei yesterday, I made up my mind.
Mr. Maftei looked at my xy bespoke shoes and showed me what was wrong with the sole shape and the upper-leather construction. This tells me that xy had his apprentises do it. He showed me why the toe plate keeps coming loose. He showed me how a real good bespoke shoe sole should be put together. He said the sole is most important for the fit. If the sole is not done right, the shoe will fall apart quickly. He told me which English makers are "aware" of this and which are not. Very Interesting conversation. Maftei does not make shoes for Lobb. Maftei only puts some of the soles on some of the shoes - mostly for Russians and Arabs, who pay unbelievable amounts of money for shoes - demanding that the shoes should be done in 3 months or less. Alexandru gets the rush work. He says that Lobb is a very good shoe, but a bit prizey and not too spezial.
