"Redneck done well" and "White Trash done well" would be fascinating.

I now get the split between Redneck & PWT in The South - If PTW is just "Trash" in the North is there a Northern version of Redneck?

Amjacks are commonly found in nightclubs in smaller cities, in New Jersey, and Long Island.  But they are everywhere, really.


Redneck is a totally different concept...redneck I think rural, backwoods, and maybe a little indecorous.   I can still be friends with a redneck.  Rednecks don't read Edith Wharton but most of the people who fall into the generalization I have made about them are into something I can talk with them about...such as beer, cars, sports, fishing, or hunting, past-times that transcend different subcultures.

The Amjack is generally much better off materially than the redneck and is more often found in urban areas.   They are two different subspecies in American culture, just as the granola environmentalist, the preppy, the urbanite/cosmpolitan, etc are.

You've described them perfectly, the same everywhere.
I think of them as the "urban redneck" or "suburban redneck".
