^ LOL!
I've often said that I dress in very little else but the curriculum... Still doesn't mean that there aren't other perfectly valid options - Will we ever see the natural shouldered Brooks DB in Tradland?
Maybe next year...

^ I'm all for the spectrum. Pick your year, pick your look. It's all classic American style.
But not all of it is AAAT Trad!
Uncle, what is the opinion on "glossy" leather in the UK? (I'm thinking loafers, in an Ivy context.) Usually a lot of cheaper shoes here in North America come with a high glossy finish. The Andylanders certainly don't like it. I am indifferent personally and wear whatever I can afford at the time that I need a new pair of shoes. What was your experience? anything ideas from other Brits?
Yes, I've seen the high gloss stuff - those Logans look like plastic.
Hi-Gloss is wrong I think. Dull 'em down & they're fine.
The easiest way to dull down shoes is to apply polish and then to imperfectly buff them. Over time an acumulation of dust & dirt will also add to the effect. Using rubbing alcohol and a wire wool brush is going far too far. They're only cheap shoes anyway.
Best -
- I'd love to revive Brownshoe's game here, btw -
Any takers?
We need some new situations.
