Green (eco) clothing

I feel like I'm still new to all this interest in clothing, especially the Ivy/Trad stuff.  I've been reading alot and hopefully learning a little.  With folks my age environmental concerns are high on the list.  I've changed out my lightbulbs for those compact things and recycle as much as I can.  I do take public transportation a lot but that's to save money really.

I've yet to see any mention of green (as in eco friendly) clothing.  Is there such a thing - and I mean beyond the old hippy hemp clothing that look like pajamas?  I don't know if I would change my buying habits but it would be nice to know if some nice things exist.

Anyone know?

Raises clenched fist and shouts FNB FIRST! NO COMPROMISE IN DEFENSE OF GOOD TASTE!

Check out the old film of  Edward Abbey and the symbolic cracking of Glen Canyon Dam. I'm the tall guy standing a few steps away.

Julia Butterfly Hill slept in my donated sleeping bag for two years.

Eco and green are two very abused words, something on the order of organic.

You need to substitute two anthropology coined words 'appropriate technology.'

Sam Hober silks from Thailand are supporting the ancient silk weaving tradition.

Bookster in the UK makes sturdy clothing that will last a lifetime, and again, maintains a traditional weaving and agricultural base.

Hides from the north american bison are slowly becoming popular in leathergoods, mostly western boots. by supporting the economic viability and sustainability of buffalo on the now demagraphicaly depopulating northern and southern plains you help restore the great grasslands and economic freedom of native peoples.

Best of all, dressed like a man and not Jerry Garcia, one can boldly walk past insecure security guards, take the elevator to the pinnacle of corporate central Occidental Oil in L.A. and dump toxic waste  on a CEO's desk and escape with ease. Should that now VERY insecure security gaurd challenge you, just give exasperated Al Gore sigh and look at his nametag closely.
