Best -
Gotcha.
Aren't they also called 'Y shirts' by some?
(Because of the shape)
Not sure...
Friday!
black brogues (my 'go to' shoe - if it ain't brogue, don't fix it) and dark grey socks
dark jeans, rolled up; old black belt with brass buckle (these jeans have gone from gardening, to work and to restaurants - I have become a big fan of plain STF jeans)
navy BD (C&A polycotton, there, I've gone and admitted it. I don't know why, but I get the best fit from very cheap shirts. Non-iron; if you tried to iron it, it would probably melt)
navy high-necked zipper cardigan, with two pale blue stripes across the chest, a present from my mother-in-law. Acrylic!
Harrington jacket and short wool houndstooth scarf, bit of a nip in the air this morning
big black polka-dot snuff handkerchief in back pocket (I used to take a lot of snuff and I've decided it's time to start again)
black Bass weejuns
navy/gray/red argyle socks
501s
generic black braided leather belt
blue Brooks oxford cloth shirt
inherited Brooks #1 repp tie in navy/white/red

Blue cotton track top with white stripes on sleeve.
Dark brown leather car-coat and dark red/green challis scarf.
A bit 'Nu Chav' today.

* pale blue cotton top
* tan vintage belt (indestructable...been wearing it for over 30 years)

Snow day:
old minnetanka mocs
boxers and terry bathrobe
Ebayed AE Macneils, brown pebblegrain in 11 3e. My shoe repairman swears these are vintage from 50's or 60's.
He said made better than current models.
These were too wide when I got them, but now that my podiatrist informs me im getting arthritis in my foot from years of retail on my feet, I now need to wear arch supports.
I swear my body is going to hell. 40 is fast approaching.
Now, amazingly, they fit perfect!
Now all I need to do is restock my shoo collection! Ugh.
(Why am i starting to post like DukeGrad? Thanks Jimmy.)
Nice day fellas.
Who is Dukegrad?
Brown nubuck driving mocs, blue/beige/brown argyles, rolled-up dark jeans, brown leather belt, navy BD, almost-black cotton knitted square-end tie, wool/cashmere tweed jacket in brown/black/blue, brown leather car-coat. Together with the No. 2 crop on top, a good 40% on the 'Skinhead Geography Teacher Scale'...?
Slight effort to look half-respectable for a colleague's 50th at work today.

why didn't you wear black tie to the Symphony? Or even tails. Or, my pref: a stroller, any time of the day.
Nah, l never wear black for a performance if l can get away with it. l could have worn my tux, but l had a fair walk (hard to get a park...packed) and my tux shoos would have been punished too hard. + with a tux, l would have blended in too much. Also.....how can a man express colour in his music when he is wearing black?
Studies have shown that the colour black repels and depresses people. lf you are going to the Opera as a spectator, then it's best to blend in the dark concert hall and wear a black tux. But if you have to win over an audience and get them to like you, then you must wear lighter colours.
