The Thread Of Good Cheer!

"Your socks should never be funnier than you are." - I got that out of a fortune cookie last week.

Anybody else cheerful around here?

Cheers!

Actual Internet post...

Re: The Thread Of Good Cheer!

It's been a tough two weeks because the engine in my garish hunk of Detroit iron spun one of its bearings...but a few good things have come of it

1. I used the internet to locate a replacement.
2. I learned that old car forumites are in some ways more believable people than clothing forumites...as in, if they say they are mechanics, they usually are, as I found out when I went to this fellow's warehouse where he is restoring a beautiful Cadillac coupe from 3 parts cars to get one of the part's cars engines.  It gave me hope for the internet.   These people were so eager to help me keep the car on the road and outwit the ass-raping mechanics out there by giving me a deal.  Decency is under-emphasized in law school.

3. My small city lacks a subway but we have a bus line, and after two days of $20 taxi rides I decided to start using it while I wait for my engine to get swapped out.  It is good for people who are going to be working with all kinds of people for a job to actually mix with all kinds of people. It is also rather cheaper and more relaxing than driving my car around the city. I may keep using it on nice days.

That said, I now have cabin fever with the urge to drive somewhere.
