Re: The Fourth Annual Collection of Sartorial Entrepreneurship

Why does the Old Man let the Clown copyright this event? Since it's the Old Man's membership lists which are being combed for attendees. Not the Clown's probably non-existant client list.

The Clown must be paying for it.

The Old Man is still sharp with the money, count on it.

Re: The Fourth Annual Collection of Sartorial Entrepreneurship

There's a real underpinning sense of cynicism and sadness to the whole thing, trying to rip off people by hawking $10,000 suits and $800 shirts made by faux "artisans" and vulgarians who boast about having the "balls" to charge exhorbitant prices, all under the pretense of preserving the sartorial arts.  The people involved with the event together look like a police lineup.  I want to take a shower after reading the putrid and cheesy announcement.

"‘The sense of being perfectly well dressed gives a feeling of inner tranquility which even religion is powerless to bestow." Ralph Waldo Emerson
"Looking good and dressing well is a necessity. Having a purpose in life is not."  Oscar Wilde

... And to be serious you have agree with that.

We're all OK over here, but what of those elsewhere who think that this is their way in to being "well dressed"?

There is an ugly cynicism about it all it's true.

I liked the chap "James Bond," who asked in the CSF thread on SF whether Cruiser would be giving a seminar.

Re: The Fourth Annual Collection of Sartorial Entrepreneurship

Seeing the Clown's photos in that CSE thing, reminds me of a mechanic/tuner I once dealt with. He was a fucking dilletante through and through, never getting his hands dirty with anything resembling a wrench, and devoid of a firm opinion on anything except that the sky is blue...well, maybe.

Same hair & mustache.

Re: The Fourth Annual Collection of Sartorial Entrepreneurship

Also from the photos: tailoring maestro Raphael Rafaelli might consider a slightly shorter jacket, but certainly shortening those pants by and inch, or two.

Mantoni is doing the one leg forward pose, as per old Master paintings. After you've done the "hailing a taxi" test with your new bespoke suit, the "Louis XIV by Rigaud" pose is the next thing to try. Third and last, is the "table end" test, since you're a bitch anyway get used to the position.
