Hiding the existence of a small army of "Malinda" moderators, until they were busted recently, did not cement a bond with AA's audience.

Let me preface my first post on FNB by saying that I've known Andy for a number of years now, before AAAC existed, and think a great deal of him. I was a frequent poster on the old Modern Man forums, used to correspond with Andy one-on-one, and have been an infrequent poster on AAAC.
I'd always thought of SF as a watering hole for the AmJacks. Before this gets up your hackles, take a moment to objectively review a great many posts over there up till the past 6 months or so. Even now, I'd bet the AmJack still represents a fair amount of the membership. AAAC had been a bastion of good taste, thoughtful discussion, and a place for us old-line trads to hang our bowties without retribution, while the SF crowd represented Diesel jeans and pointy plastic shoes. Again, my perception but one oft supported by the threads on just those subjects.
As of late, I'd been wondering what's happened to AAAC. I miss so many of the original posters that gave AAAC its energy, but thought maybe I was somehow at fault, and just was out of step. So... It gives me some validation to hear the previous posts!
And FWIW, I found out about FNB today on... ahem... SF.

^ I agree. I would add that FNB has better content and it's way more fun and laid back than the "old" Ask Andy (now diminished to A.S.K.-andy).
Festivus is being celebrated a bit late here at FNB, as indicated by the airing of grievances taking place now.
A tale of two threads - or is it perhaps one? If there ever was a thread to support the concerns that the bottom has fallen out of AAAC here it is:

Now compare it with the corresponding thread at SF:

Perhaps a Mickey watch will be on the prize table of next year's CSF.

I have been banned from AAAC for what two years and have never read it since. I do take full credit for loosing Harris upon an unsuspecting world. I told him about AAAC, God forgive me. I have no idea what it is like now but I do know that the people I admired have gone here. The great Mark Grayson, FNB, Horace, and the other occasional contributors. I went there because of their posts.
I read here and occasionally post because clothes are a hobby, and you can learn from these bright people. Other places are what they are. But I learn here.
