Re: Pic of sportcoat

This is a beautiful sportcoat.  I very much like the pattern.  Where is it from?

A very nice sportcoat indeed, Horace. I like the windowpane check, it rocks the trad!

Is it one of your Andover Shop purchases?

Re: Pic of sportcoat

Thanks for your comments guys.

I've got more pics, including sleeves and button-holes and closeups, -- but must resize them -- which is a monumental task for me.  So will do when I can.  It appears to me -- and I didn't recognize it before, though I've had the jacket for some time, that the left hand pocket (viewers right) -- the pocket isn't at the same "level" as the horizonal line on the other side.  But I don't have the jacket in front me and it could just be the way the pic was shot.

I usually like to wear a white or blue button-down with it.  And burgundy solid wool or grenadine tie.  Not very imaginative but I like the simplicy of it.

Hart:  it's an Andover jacket.  If memory serves not as "natural" shouldered as some Brooks I have (wch I've taken photos of but must resize) but very little padding (in my experience) and I like the jacket in general.

I'm going to post later, two horrible mistakes I've made with jackets -- but continue to wear.

Also some old-school trad that doesn't "conform" to a more rigid Harrisian hierarchy.  (No disrespect to Harris -- I'm fond of him). A 3 button with double vents.

Also -- a few of the 2 button coats with forward pleated trousers - a cosmpolitan trad, as I like to think of it.  When I can.

ANd then some of my bespoke stuff (one a copy of a cary grant NxNW influenced -- though imperfect) and the other a crazy heavy heavy flannel from Hield that is pretty good too.  And whatever else I can think of.

Maybe some old-school flannels (they gotta be at least 18 oz'ers)

Mainly though -- I'd like to post what I wear most often -- what I consider high-quality USA-made RTW or (sometimes MTM), from places that offer a good value and I think are timeless style (as far as they can be).  I can't believe how the prices have gone up.  Old corbins, had for well-under $100 -- of very good quality would probably be 3 times that amount today.  Oh la la....

And of course more tattered trad when I can.   Shirts, Brooks ties, etc.  Maybe some shoes.

I also desgined a shirt through Ascot Chang (pre-internet) that I really liked.  I sketched a collar and had them make it for me from a really nice light grey broadcloth that was very light but strong.  Not my usual style but I bet it would fall into the range of
FNB's "club wear".

If I get bold -- I'll take a few of some bespoke  gear on me.  I probably should shed 10 pounds for some of them to look very good. -- esp. the 3 pieces which I liked to have fit closely.

PS:  VonRoth:  That's an Andover jacket.

Re: Pic of sportcoat

Is the lining purple or is that just a reflection from the flash on a gray lining?
