Re: Nantucket Reds--How Seasonal?

There once was a man from Nantucket...

My take on the reds...in the words of rojo, as I recall, regarding something else "they would look strange worn in the snow"

otherwise they are red pants

I prefer the poplin of similar color, and so of course, these are really only suitable for warm weather.

I wear red cords in the winter.  If people don't like them they can $#@% off.

Re: Nantucket Reds--How Seasonal?

I am wearing a pair of Nantucket Red shorts from Lands End as we speak.

I always have loved washed out red shades and got them on sale. Then I thought "let's go the whole hog" and get a pair of (polin) strides to boot. They arrived and I put them on (Landsend give free alterations). The missus immediately banned them as suitable only for a garden party or very casual situation.

This was followed by the remark that did I seriously believe "that colour" was "appropriate" to wear out at night for dinner and drinks (it is summer time here).

Suitably chastened I await my next (cobra-like) strike at bringing Hyannis Port to Sydney.
