At some point within the past year, I saw a bit about RSLs on the Travel Channel.  I think it might have been Lonely Planet.  There was some discussion about slipping standards, though if I recall correctly, the one visited was maintaining a code much like you propose and was working on keeping the louts at bay.

Is it proper to wear one's grandfather's medals? I wouldn't have thought so, but maybe things are different in Oz.

I think the problem is similar here in Britain at our British Legion Clubs...

My father told me that they have artillery guns, placed outside the RSL`s in Australia and New Zealand, could these not be put to use to deter the wearing of slobwear?
