Which makes me ask....
what's the story with the Fedora Lounge guys? l post a brand new pair of classic quality shoos, but no-one ever likes them. They seem to prefer cheap second hand brands. Why?
I actually don't hate "Trad". I've promoted it since '04 and only criticised it since '06.
I see it as a great way in to what I love. A very of-the-moment marketing opportunity. I do want to see it made better though. Ideally I'd like to see it become really 'Traditional' and therefore Ivy League and not just a post-Preppy Internet game.
However, if I can't "improve" 'Trad' then I'd still like it to exist. I'm not out to destroy anything.
If 'Trad' doesn't actually want to be traditional then that's fine - but it must then honestly be what it is and not lay claim to a tradition which it does not represent.
I'm against anything fake (so says the Internet Troll!).
All the Best to ye now -

I just checked out all of the posts that Shooman linked. If only my good lady would have seen me look at those guys in those clothes... the reaction would have been priceless I'm sure!
Chums,
In America, perchance the term "Trad" is seducing because it avoids the social class issues of ivy league or preppie. Ironic that the board dwells on social class issues, but so be it. I reckon there are not too many Hahvahd men on BBR.
Cheerio.

I agree with the Admiral & what's wrong with "Trad" being that?
Why does "Trad" feel the need to pretend to be something else with a load of hokum added on to back up its claims? C'mon, you can't really be a Yankee born in Virginia can you?
"Trad" DOES exist on the Internet. You can't deny that. And it IS what Admiral Cod says. Why deny that?
"Trads" should be proud of what they are not always on the backfoot.
One small point, Longwing - J. Press is Ivy League as it is today. Only in Japan is J. Press Trad and Japanese Trad IS different to what is being attempted on AAAT.
And its a difference worth celebrating.
Best -
"Ivy League" is a stupid name. "Trad" is much better.
