My first bespoke suit was from Sam - that was before I knew any better. Reasonable fit, lousy construction.

Sounds like the author was easily satisfied. A pity the poor chump didn't go upstairs and get something really decent from W.W. Chan. Of course, it would have cost him a lot more than what he was paying Sam's.
