How do you like your Russell?  I have been thinking of that cloth for my next sportcoat, and would love to hear how wearable and versatile you have found it to be.  It is really a thing of beauty when viewed on the bolt.

^^^^  It's funny.  My tailor, who I think the world of and who I believe has some of the best taste around, makes the world's worst hacking pockets and ticket pockets.  For some reason, they show none of the balance with which he is usually so good.  It is simply a style about which I have to forget.

They (Rubinacci) place the pockets well, it is just that the ticket pockets they do are about 90% as large as the regular pocket.  For me, it doesn't look good unless there is a bigger difference in size.

Nobody should feel bad about the quality of their Oxxford stuff. I actually really like the pants--I just wish I had chosen more suitable cloth for mine. But the price is so high, I think a lot of people would be better served by one of the great, high-end tailors. Of course, I'll be the first to admit that it can be a major pain to get work done overseas. It took a year of back-and-forth visits to nail everything down. That cost should certainly be accounted for when making a decision.

Iammatt: when I asked about doing hacking pockets, Mariano turned his nose up at the idea, and said something like, "Not elegant!" Maybe the awkwardness of the execution stems from the reluctance to do them in the first place. But then, there's Luca with his . . .
