The CFDA ( Council of Fashion Designers) in the U.S. is requesting Congress to pass a 3 year law to grant copyrights to designers and their creations. Purpose is to sue so called knockoff artists. I think Patents , which last 14-17 years, have much more teeth than a copyright. The patents take about 1.5 to 3 years to be granted.

Shoo, My personal opinion is that fashion has become all about the dress. Women and the dress is where the money is and where the press concentrates themselves. I want to say in my art, that there is fashion in unfashionable items like hats, ties, and dress shirts. Menswear can be cool , Menswear doesnt have to be an afterthought to womenswear, hats and shirts can look different.
Womenswear designers try to dress men like women . I am a knuckle dragging, crotch sniffing, puss hound and I see menswear through a different set of glasses.
